Types of Motorized Shades and Motorized Blinds

If you are looking to add convenience and a hint of coolness to your new window treatments, make them motorized. The experts at South Kendall Interiors in Miami, Florida can show you how motorized blinds and motorized shades can revolutionize your home or office.

Types of Motorized Operating Systems

Platinum® – This motorized window treatment system offers a convenient wall switch or remote control. Either device can be programmed to completely open or close one or several window coverings or have them stop at two places in between for a bit of natural light and privacy at the same time. Used in conjunction with the following three systems, Platinum gives you complete control of your blinds and shades with the touch of a button.

PowerRise® - Allows you to raise or lower shades or blinds with a remote. You can also adjust several window treatments at one time, even in different rooms. A wall switch or remote is programmed to activate the motor on selected window treatments.

PowerGlide® - Have complete control over your vertical blinds from across the room. Using either the Platinum wireless wall switch or remote control, you can open and close your vertical blinds and rotate the vanes.

PowerTilt® - Just as its name implies, this motorized blind system tilts the slats of your blinds remotely with no additional wiring needed. Batteries generally last over a year before needing replaced.

PowerView® - PowerView takes this convenience a few steps further. This innovation automated window treatment system gives you the power to operate every motorized blind or shade in your home with a remote control, mobile device, or whole-house automation system. Use the remote to move your window treatments any time you want. Use the PowerView App to schedule your blinds to open when the sun rises and close when the sun sets. If you’re away from home, use your smartphone to adjust your shades throughout the day to make your home look occupied.

Types of Blinds and Shades Available with Motorization

South Kendall Interiors carries a large selection of motorized shades and motorized blinds. Here are a few of them:

Woven woods – The combination of reeds, grasses, and wood found in woven wood shades give a natural touch to any room. They are available as roller shades and Roman shades.

Roman shades – Roman shades are the perfect stand-in for draperies because they are fabric and gather in soft folds when raised.

Silhouette/Pirouette – These shades beautifully combine sheer panels with more opaque vanes, resulting in window treatments that are both elegant and functional.

Luminette – Designed to cover wide windows and sliding glass doors, these shades are similar to Silhouettes but hang vertically.

Honeycomb shades – Increase your energy efficiency with these cellular shades. They effortlessly cover a window by themselves, but also work well with custom draperies and valances.

Roller shades – Available in an amazing number of colors and patterns, roller shades can provide complete privacy when closed and virtually disappear when open.

Blinds – Already incredibly versatile, horizontal and vertical blinds become even more so with motorization.

The number of motorized blind and shade options can be overwhelming, and that’s why we’re here. Serving Miami, Florida and the surrounding areas, South Kendall Interiors is proud to be your local Hunter Douglas motorized window treatments expert.
